To relate brain structure and function, we combine neuroanatomical techniques -- such as tract tracing, brain clearing, and light-sheet microscopy -- with physiological, behavioral and non-invasive imaging methods. A particular interest is how auditory structures subserve learning and memory formation. Another focus is how the organization and development of sensory pathways, as well as their plasticity under sensory deprivation, contributes to multisensory integration.
