We aim to investigate certain neuroinflammatory processes induced by infections. Therefore, we characterize the behavior of resident microglia (R3) cells and recruited mononuclear immune cells (R2) by Flow cytometry. We measure the expression of particular activation markers, production of cytokines and chemokines, moreover we apply a variety of functional assays with the isolated cell subsets.
