My research focuses on understanding the functional architecture and dynamic state of brain networks using high-field neuroimaging, with a particular emphasis on non-human primates as a translational bridge between system neuroscience and human neuroimaging. I am interested in how sensorimotor processes are represented across distributed cortical circuits, including multisensory processes during natural vision, and how large-scale functional connectivity could be changed via perturbation of central nodes. A central goal of my work is to develop and apply new perturbation approaches—such as optogenetics and chemogenetics—to improve the specificity of brain circuit perturbation— to increase the translational value, reproducibility and comparative power of non-human primate neuroscience.
